Now, Where's the beach?

Here's the latest piece that I've done, it's called "Now, Where's the Beach? The end customer is a recently retired airline pilot, I think the title and picture say it all with no explanation. I did have to make a few small changes after I took the pictures, I added a mustache and made the hair brown. As always there are more pictures in the album. I enjoyed doing it, hope you like it too.

The Sailor

A good friend had me do this one for her ex-Navy husband for Christmas last year. I got the idea from a Navy memorial in Washington D. C. called "The Lone Sailor". I liked the wind blown look and the intent stare out to sea, I thought it turned out very nice. Sorry the pictures didn't turn out so good, I was rushing them so I could get it to the customer on time. There are more pictures in the Photo Album.

What Scarf?

Here's the next from last years commission jobs, it's called "What Scarf?" The woman loves scarves and has a way of peering over her reading glasses at her co-workers. The big head of hair was fun to do, and it's hard to see but her top is done with pearl paints making it look like silk. It turned out great, and the customer liked it too, very good. There are more pictures in the Photo Album.

Not That Nal!

Happy New Year everyone!
It's time to show another carving from the past year and this one is called "Not That Nail!" The person it was made for is a office worker that also dabbles in home repair and his favorite place to shop is that orange box store. In the carving he has just come home from a day at the office and can't wait to get at it, but in his hurry he has whacked his thumb. Hope you like it.

(If you have problems getting into my Photo Album let me know, I'll see if I can do something about it.)
